Expendables 2

I remember last April when I posted my article about Real Action Movies and how it seemed that there wasn't any. Well for the most part, I was right. I went on to talk about how The Expendables was going to rock all of our worlds with pure red meat eating testosterone action. I have to say that The Expendables did not disappoint!

Well if you haven't been paying attention to the movie news lately, you may be interested to know that The Expendables 2 is in the works and is expected to pack an even bigger punch. The current status of the project is that it is not being directed by Sylvester Stallone but we can expect to have even more big name action stars. Right now Jean Claude Van Damme is considering the deal (as he turned it down quite quickly the first time around) and there are even rumors of Bolo Yeung, Carl Weathers and even the great Chuck Norris having roles. I have to say that seeing JCVD go another round with Bolo Yeung would get me in the theater regardless of everything else. I've also read that Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger are expected to have bigger roles in this one as Arnold is out of office and ready to get back to his roots.

I think it goes without saying that I'm excited for The Expendables 2. From what I understand, we are looking to see this in theaters in late 2012 or even early 2013 but as long as it delivers, I'm willing to wait.

  1. I thought Expendables was going to be a complete throwback to those 80s action movies, but it didn’t really go all the way. Basically I want awesome ridiculousness throughout the entire movie, instead of a few sparse ingenious moments like when Terry Crews took out a helicopter by throwing a tank shell shot-put style.

  2. I have to say that I thought The Expendables was an ok movie. I know for guys it must have been awesome having all those 90's rambo type actors on there but the acting was so cheesy. The only part I liked in the whole movie was that gun that Dolph Lundgren used at the very beginning. Now that was pure bad ass!
