What is an Aerobie?

What do you like to do during the summer months? Usually most people like to get outdoors and get into the sun. When I'm not cycling, walking on the beach or working on my car you can usually catch me trying to be active in some way or another. One of my favorite outdoor games is frisbee. Frisbee has to be one of the most underrated games of all time. It requires very little effort to throw and you can play with only two people, or as many as you want. You know what's even better than a frisbee? An Aerobie Flying Ring!
I can still remember the first time I threw an Aerobie. I was about 10 years old and I threw the 10" ring all over the park of my elementary school. Those were good times! The Aerobie is especially designed to fly farther, faster and smoother than a regular flying disc. The Aerobie flying ring has broken several world records for throwing distance, and when you throw it you'll see why. My wife and I take a 13" model to the park down the street every once and a while and you should see the Aerobie take flight. We can usually stand over a half football field (length wise) apart and throw it back and forth without any serious running. It really is a fantastic toy that should not be overlooked this summer.

I really want to recommend that you grab the big 13" ring if you decide to get one. The 10" ring flys nice too but you won't be able to get it to go as far as the 13" one. Not to mention that the hole is bigger and that makes it easier to catch. These rings have a rubberized coating on the edges that allow you to catch it safely and comfortably. I also find that because it's thinner than a traditional frisbee, it's easier to throw in a straight line and it even cuts the wind better. I say leave the frisbee for the dogs and use an Aerobie from now on.

I actually bought the one we use now a few years back off Ebay. However I was searching online recently to buy one for a friend, and I saw that Amazon had the big 13" model for a ridiculously low price so I bought a few more. If you have never had one, or even thrown one before I highly recommend borrowing a friends or picking one up. I think they sell them at Toy's R' Us for about $20. Save yourself some money and buy one online.
